AXIS
AXIS is a multidisciplinary art piece which uses film, dance and sound to take the viewer on a journey through the four seasons and the emotions they each evoke.
I see each season as a character with it's own temperament, journey and goal. Rather than choreograph each piece, I decided to let my perception of the season, the environment and soundscape dictate my movement through improvisation. For the music, I began by recording sounds in Quenington within each season and used them to create a soundscape. Everything from birdsong to wind, lambing, tennis playing, my mother practicing the piano, my sister singing in the bathroom and her little dog barking in the cold. Each season is filmed within Quenington Village, Gloucestershire.
